Some Theoretical Background

Some ideas behind this project:
  1. I'm largely influenced by Vilem Flusser reasoning. His ideas, from "Towards a Philosophy of Photography'" about the Twentieth Century media culture and the increasingly technical and automated world, are somehow the basis of my attitude toward tools (or rather apparatus) such as the Korg Monotron and Monotribe. For a very short introduction please read this text fragment from Wikipedia.
  2. Also, as a by-product of my philosophical education, I must point some of Deleuze (and Guattari) ideas, like: becoming-animal, becoming-imperceptible, neighboring zones, plane of immanence, rhizome etc., ideas which are part of my intimate understanding of the world.
  3. I would not call my soundfiles "music", at least not in a strong sens. I'm not a musician, and I don't want to become one; I'm simply using my freedom (read "spare time") to experiment with new things in accordance with all my experience, knowledge and intellectual endeavor (see the previous two ideas). However, I would like to think that all my initiative can be linked to Sound Art practices and, at a second thought, I might call myself an artist inspired by the Fluxus Movement.
  4. Also, I have to admit that I was for a long time intellectually enticed by some contemporary music ideas, especially serialism, but also stochastic music and musique concrete - now I can play with these ideas on my own. What a treat!
